Storythread Curriculum Framework
A Storythread Curriculum Framework allows us to connect learning from across the Australian Curriculum Learning Areas into a thematic and integrated approach that engages and enchants our students creating perezhivanie moments for deep, connected learning. Students are immersed in and become part of the story, sometimes as a character, sometimes to help a character, co-constructing, and frequently finishing the story through their learning journey. Narratives are used to introduce new concepts, knowledge and problems, and children are invited to explore and become involved in the process of finishing the story, thus, demonstrating their knowledge, skill and understanding. The narrative genre allows insights into the complex relationships between humans and the place we live.
Storythread Curriculum is underpinned by the experiential pedagogies of LanguageThread, NatureThread, and PlayThread. Learning occurs In, Through, With and About each of these experiential pedagogies.
